Business Solutions Architect
Magento Commerce
  • Member of the Magento Certification Advisory Board
2013-11 2016-09
Solutions Architect
Cake & Arrow (Alexander Interactive)
  • Architect the best software, hardware and SaaS solutions for complex Magento, Laravel and custom CMS projects that typically contain numerous integrations and then execute on that solution.
  • Assess the technical state of the client's current systems and evaluate its possible evolution based on the project's technical and business requirements.
  • Identify, proof of concept and develop reusable Magento extensions and PHP SDKs for commonly encountered missing integration components for use in our solutions toolkit.
  • Code well-documented abstractions and interfaces for obscure, but often extended, Magento functionality. These abstract classes and interfaces function as the core of future implementation of these extended Magento features. An example of this would be a set of abstractions around the Enterprise Mview Indexers that made it much easier to implement, debug, test and maintain custom Enterprise indexes.
  • Write and assemble all client deliverables outlining a proposed solution, technical architecture and project strategy including proof of concept work for all technical approaches for eventual client presentation.
  • Partner with the client's IT resources to facilitate the mapping and migration of data into the new system and provide a single source of technical knowledge for the client to regularly interact with.
  • Act as the agency's client-facing representative for any e-Commerce project, providing a trusted interface between the agency and any non-technical elements on the client side.
  • Write best-practice, testable, object oriented PHP code following the SOLID principles of object oriented design in order to minimize project technical debt.
  • Periodically fill the role of Technical Lead (responsibilities below) during the implementation phase of a project.

  • Provided initial and follow-up technical estimations for all requirements and user stories.
  • Managed and delivered projects that involved extremely accelerated time frames by ensuring the technical components were sound before the project started and providing the development team with hands-on implementation advice to ensure the timeline progressed smoothly.
  • Lead all efforts pertaining to data modeling and migration which, many times, included the development of custom systems to transform existing client data into standardized Magento-specific import formats.
