Who Wrote The Most Resumes? Zety’s Job Title Study 2024

Create Your Resume Now

Our customers have been hired by:

Which profession has written the most resumes in the USA? Who has written the most CVs in Poland? Where baristas are amongst the most active resume creators?

Different markets mean different needs. Some job titles are more prevalent in specific countries than others. But what are they?

After studying millions of resumes, I’m here to tell you all there is to know about the job titles with the most resumes created last year.

How Geographic and Market Differences Shape Resume Trends

The demand for employees' services varies significantly depending on the country they live in and, therefore, the market they work in. As a result, the number of resumes generated by different professional groups can differ from one region to another.

In Spain, kitchen helpers are among the top professions for which resumes are created, reflecting a high demand in the hospitality industry. Meanwhile, in Poland, this role may not be as prevalent, with other job titles taking precedence based on that market's unique needs.

Understanding these global trends is crucial for both job seekers and employers. To shed light on these dynamics, over the last year, Zety has conducted an in-depth analysis of nearly 17 million (!) resumes created last year using our online resume builder. This comprehensive study spans 7 distinct markets, offering valuable insights into which professions are currently the most popular in each.

17 million resumes were created in Zety Resume builder over the year

This analysis provides a clear picture of the shifting employment landscape worldwide, whether you want to understand the global job market or tailor your resume to better align with regional demands.

Global Resume Trends: 6 Factors Influencing Demand for Services

The demand for services varies globally and is shaped by a complex interplay of factors. Allow me to show you how these forces impact service demand globally.

1. Economic Conditions

Economic conditions are a fundamental force that shapes the demand for services. Countries at different stages of development have different needs.

In emerging economies, there tends to be a higher demand for essential services such as construction, healthcare, and education. It is driven by the need to build infrastructure and improve public welfare. In advanced economies, however, the demand often shifts towards more specialized services in technology, finance, and professional sectors, reflecting a mature economic environment.

2. Demographic and Social Changes

Another thing that impacts service demand are demographic and social changes, especially in relation to population structure and societal norms.

An ageing population in many developed countries increases the demand for healthcare services, elderly care, and related professions. Meanwhile, social changes such as increasing female workforce participation and urbanization influence the demand for childcare, education, and urban services.

3. Cultural Differences

What plays a significant role in shaping service demand across the globe are also cultural differences.

Different societies appreciate certain services based on cultural values, traditions, and social norms. Cultures that strongly emphasize hospitality and tourism often have a higher demand for services in the tourism and food industries, while cultures that prioritize education may see a higher demand for academic services and tutoring.

6 Factors Influencing Global Demand for Services

4. Government Policies

Regulations, subsidies, tariffs, labor laws, and other government policies can significantly influence service demand within a country.

Policies that support specific industries, such as renewable energy or technology, can drive demand for services in those sectors. On the other hand, strict regulations can limit the availability or profitability of services in different areas. Plus, the governmental support for education, healthcare, and public infrastructure also shapes service demand by creating opportunities and motivations for growth in these sectors.

5. Technological Advancements

A significant driver of change in the global service demand landscape are also technological advancements.

Innovations in technology can lead to the creation of entirely new service industries, such as IT support, cybersecurity, and digital marketing. It can also simultaneously reduce the demand for traditional services. Automation and digitalization play a crucial role in this change, enabling businesses to operate more efficiently, but often at the cost of reducing the need for human labor in certain areas.

6. The Automation of the Hiring Process

The automation of the hiring process has transformed how companies recruit, influencing the demand for HR services.

Automated systems, such as AI-driven applicant tracking systems (ATS), simplify the hiring process, allowing companies to filter large amounts of resumes more efficiently. This technological change reduces the need for traditional recruitment services while increasing the demand for IT professionals who can manage and optimize these automated systems.

Summary

As you can see, no two countries with the same professions created the most resumes. There were similarities, especially regarding resumes created for a specific experience level, such as intern, but the differences were much more significant.

Why is that?

It’s hard to pinpoint one specific reason when comparing 7 completely different markets spread over three continents. However, it’s easy to explain what are some factors that constantly influence the demand for services, no matter the region. They’re economic, demographical, social, cultural, political, and technological. Each can have a significant impact on the shape of your region.
