If you’re serving on a board of an organization, it’s certainly the kind of information you’d like to highlight on your job application. The challenge is to fit it well into the structure of your resume so that it stands out and gets the right amount of attention from the recruiters.
Just as any relevant additional information on your resume (like certifications or licenses, memberships, etc.), board membership details will be well-placed as an extra resume section. If you don’t think it’s noteworthy enough to deserve a separate section, but you’d still like to mention it, include it in the resume bullet points of the work experience section.
