How to Write a Job Description For a Bartender Resume
Employment of bartenders is projected to increase, and 63% of consumers would rather spend money on an experience than on shopping. This means the future is bright, but.. To stand out from the competition and get the best job out there, you must do more than simply list your duties. Follow these tips for an effective bartender job description:
1. Make the section heading stand out.
Label your bartending job description section with one of the following titles: Work Experience, Experience, Employment History, Work History. Write it in bold.
2. Put your bartending job description section in the right spot.
Write it just below your resume introduction if you’ve worked in the industry longer than Dale DeGroff or below your education section if you’re writing your first resume.
3. List bartender job history on your resume in reverse order.
Begin with your current or most recent job and move backwards in the timeline.
4. Make each entry clear and informative.
Each bartending job description should begin with your job title, the name and location of the bar or restaurant, and the dates of employment.
5. Use up to 5 bullet points for each job.
In each bullet, specify quantifiable achievements whenever possible. Simply listing what you were responsible for will be too generic and as predictable as salt and lime served with a shot of tequila. Also, add only the most relevant responsibilities and achievements.

6. Tailor your bartender job description to the job ad.
Show your interest in the specific job by personalizing your resume bullets as they relate to what you find in the job ad.
7. Frontload each bullet with action verbs.
Begin each bullet point with resume action verbs, such as brought, supported, increased, coordinated.
8. Close with a “Key Achievement” subsection.
Save this subsection for your proudest achievements and contributions. It will make the recruiter perk up like an ice-cold energy drink would. Use the Problem-Action-Result (PAR) method to describe your success.
