How to Write a Resume for Sports Management

Create a resume for sports management by following these rules:

  1. Seek the best resume template as if you were looking for a coaching board.
  2. Play with it and set resume margins, choose the best resume font, and decide on the overall layout for your resume.
  3. Pick one of the resume formats available; go for the chronological resume if you want to show career progression or a functional format if you prefer to show off your skill set.
  4. Start with the header section and include your contact information and professional job title
  5. Follow with the resume summary if you have experience or a career objective if you don’t.
  6. Move to the work experience section representing your finest and quantifiable professional accomplishments.
  7. Don’t go further than 10 years back in your work history.
  8. Weave in action verbs and power words to emphasize your achievements.
  9. Highlight your highest level of education in the education section.
  10. Use resume bullet points to list your key skills and qualifications, including soft skills and hard skills. (More on that in the following chapter.)
  11. Make space for additional resume information, such as language skills, certifications and licenses, volunteering experience, or hobbies and interests.
  12. Send irrelevant details on the bench to ensure the ideal resume length: one page.
  13. Save your resume in a PDF format unless the job ad says otherwise.
