How to Write a Resume for a Nail Technician?

Some think that being a nail tech doesn’t require much knowledge or skills. They couldn’t be more wrong—and your resume will prove it. You simply need to follow the instructions to write the perfect resume for a nail technician.

Create a resume for a nail technician by following these steps:

  1. Choose the right resume format for you—you may try the classic chronological resume, a skill-based resume, or a combination resume format, depending on your preferences.
  2. Pick a creative resume template that you like, or make one by creating a resume layout and making a resume outline in a text processing app.
  3. Fill the resume header with your full name, job title, and your resume contact information. You may include a link to your nail design portfolio!
  4. Write a good resume introduction that highlights your qualifications. Use a resume summary format if you’re experienced, or go for a nail technician resume objective if you have no experience.
  5. Make your work experience section stand out by mentioning career achievements and job duties for each position (the order of jobs on a resume goes from the most recent to the oldest one.)
  6. List education on a resume starting with the highest level you’ve completed.
  7. Arrange your nail technician skills on a resume starting with your professional skills and moving on to people skills (you’ll find more information about nail tech skills in the next chapter.)
  8. Include additional information on your resume, such as your nail technician license, languages, or hobbies and interests, in extra resume sections.
  9. Check the length of your resume—a one-page resume is preferred.
  10. Save your resume in a PDF or Word format.

After completing the steps above, you can use an online resume checker or a resume checklist to see if anything needs to be added or could be improved.
